Dili Exhibition 2016

On January 25, 2016 a major Foto Friendship exhibition opened at the Xanana Gusmão Cultural Centre in Dili, Timor-Leste. The exhibition featured the work of students from two Australian schools Cabramatta High School in Sydney and Winmalee High School in the Blue Mountains and Eskola Secundária Katólika Nain Feto Ramelau, in Hato-Builico, Timor-Leste.

Foto Friendship co-founder Wendy Chandler travelled to Timor-Leste to manage the exhibition set-up. Prior to the opening Wendy made the long journey to Hato-Builico where she personally delivered stories created by foto friends from Cabramatta, Sydney and Winmalee in the Blue Mountains of NSW. The Timorese students were also given a Blue Mountains East Timor Sisters (BMETS) 2016 calendar that featured their photographs. Four students: Alcina, Celestino, Joaninha and David then accompanied Wendy back down the mountain for the exhibition opening in Dili.

You and view the work for yourself on our galleries page in Solo Shows 1 to 4 and Group Shows 2 to 4.

Most of all a huge THANK YOU to all the creative students who shared their lives with us.
